“My dad was always about service. We always had foster kids living with us. When we lived in Monticello, he would take his wrestlers out in the hills to cut firewood for the winter for the widows or those who might need it. Sometimes he would bring a few of his wrestlers home to spend the night because if they stayed for wrestling practice, they would miss their bus home. He always felt that ‘there was always room for one more,’ and people were always welcome in our home. He would do whatever he could to help others. He taught us older kids compassion, love, and kindness.”
